Well, I did not intend to start a fight or upset an Internet troll. Neither did I attack any ones way of life, just a comment on an outdated and dying system. Its also interesting that the mainland Europe are far more advanced in the metric system than the UK however “British Morons” at least have seen the light! I am not going to get into the Queen debate but would point out as a tourist attraction alone, she probably pays for herself.
And finally, I thought we were talking guitar necks here!!!

  2. tartanvandal says:

Well Steve, you have more in common with the metric system than you realise.. It is calculated on an atomic leaves, about the same size as your brain by all acounts.

  3. tartanvandal says:

Auto text, grrrrr. That was atomic level not leaves…

I’ll stick with the Imperial system. Tighten just a hairsbreadth (1/48th of an inch)….that’s it you can do it! 🙂

I guess since your techer didn’t shove it on you, you can’t pick it up on your own..ha?

  13. sprmoran says:

wouldn’t you detune all the strings so as to take the stress off the truss rod before you adjust

  14. Sean Blackburn says:

The imperial system keeps you sharp with fractions though!

  15. The Snowman says:

Solved my problem in 0:51 seconds. Outstanding!

  16. Thierry Mattea says:

Lame lame lame!!! There’s soooo much to adjusting the neck, like how to measure string to fret space (ideal space), saddle height, nut set- up, etc… Why make a video that is so ambiguous and lacking essential details and call it “Expert Advice”? LAME!

  17. Dyas Satria Perdhana says:

    Thank you 🙂

  18. thetruth says:

should the certain distance or the height of the strings from the neck in acoustic guitar? Well the guitar was left for a long time with strings on and so the gap between strings and neck is about 3/8″ .

  19. Phil Heinricy says:

This guy may be a guitar technician, but he’s no luthier.
Any good luthier will tell you that you should never adjust the neck with the strings under full tension. Also, it will take a few days at least for the neck to settle. It is made of wood, which does not change shape on command, only with slow and gentle persuasion.
Sorry if this offends the poster of this video, but I’ll trust my luthier over a “guitar technician” any day.

  20. Seamus McMichael says:

Can somebody help me out here. Can this be done after putting new strings are put on or before new strings are put on?

  21. Ivan Šalamon says:

Most videos about this are shockingly lacking in information, this one is the best I’ve come across.
